Chris Grumm has worked with organizations both nationally and internationally to build an agenda of social change and justice, concentrating on change within communities on the ground as well as institutions and systems. Over the years, she has developed and implemented fundraising strategies to support this agenda.
Since 2011, she has been consulting through her company, Chris Grumm Consulting Group (CGCG). The Chris Grumm Consulting Group works with organizations and leaders from around the world committed to scaling up their organizations for social change and community organizing. This includes strategic work focused on programmatic impact, fundraising, evaluation, staff and board leadership. The CGCG works with organizations with local, national and/or global commitments as well as social enterprises interested in deepening their social change impact. The company works with leaders and organizations to leverage and bring solutions to scale by reframing their current work to meet the changing world context, thereby creating new and more effective social change impact in communities in the USA and around the world.
Prior to starting her own firm, Chris Grumm was the CEO/President of the Women’s Funding Network (WFN) for over a decade. During her 11 year tenure as CEO the network grew from 75 to over 165 foundation members with assets of over $500,000,000. Women’s funds have been a leader in the world of social change philanthropy and were the key partner and leader in the Women Moving Millions Campaign that raised over $200,000,000 and Chris Grumm was the co-chair of the campaign during her tenure at WFN. Prior to WFN she was the Executive Director of the Chicago Foundation for Women raising both annual budgets and endowment funds for grantmaking to women and girls organizations doing social change and public policy programs.
Ms. Grumm spent 4 years in Geneva, Switzerland as the Deputy General Secretary of the Lutheran World Federation. During that time she worked with church leaders both in the United States and around the globe in the development and execution of their public voice as well as overseeing the organization’s strategic plan and governance implementation.
Ms. Grumm is a trained health educator and worked for a number of years in California in the area of reproductive and maternal and child health. She spent over 25 years working first for Planned Parenthoods in San Francisco, Monterey and Chicago and then as the Executive Director of Education Program Associates, providing the Family Planning/MCH/Ob-Gyn Nurse Practitioner training and health education for the California State Office of Family Planning.
She is a trained community organizer, the principles of which she has applied to all of her work throughout her career. As a sought after thought leader in the world of social justice and philanthropy, Chris has leveraged her fearless leadership, vision, and practical knowledge of nonprofit impact to spark transformative social change worldwide.
